The game will be released on last-gen consoles later this year and takes place in between Dead Island and Dead Island 2.
I hope you like a little Dead Island with your Dead Island, because Deep Silver has just announced yet another entry in their zombie-bashing franchise. Escape Dead Island is aiming to put a fresh new spin on the series’ traditional melee-focused gameplay later this year, while infusing elements of mystery and survival.
Escape Dead Island will be different from other games in the series in that it features a third-person over-the-shoulder perspective, as well as colorful cel-shaded graphics (there’s even a black and white segment that looks like something straight out of Mad World). The events of the game are said to take place somewhere in between Dead Island and Dead Island 2, and the story involves the origins of the zombie virus.
Deep Silver has already announced the next-gen Dead Island 2at this year’s E3, and their new MOBA Dead Island: Epidemic is currently available as an Early Access title on Steam. Escape Dead Island will be released this fall for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. In the meantime, you can check out the announcement trailer featuring playable character, Cliff Calo.
