Snake Eater looks even more haunting when given the Phantom Pain treatment. Metal Gear Solid 3 looks a whole lot darker.
YouTuber YongYea has made a Metal Gear Solid 3 trailer with a Phantom Pain twist. The result is incredible. The game is mixed with the E3 2014 trailer theme song, "Nuclear" by Mike Oldfield, a fitting song as Naked Snake walks away from The Boss' final resting place, the bed of roses swaying in the wind.
Metal Gear Solid 3 ranked 2nd in our Metal Gear ranking, and for good reason: it is a haunting tale of espionage, patriotism, sacrifice, survival, and love. Taking place in 1960, Snake Eater is a Cold War thriller about the original Snake (aka Big Boss) and his mission to destroy a new Soviet secret weapon before World War 3 breaks out. He's inserted deep into a fictional Russian jungle and takes quite the beating as he progresses to his objective. Waiting at the end of the jungle is his mentor, The Boss, who has betrayed him and America.
More Western than proper espionage tale, MGS3 is a stunning work of art from Hideo Kojima, who is currently working on the equally-formidable Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, which once again sends Big Boss into enemy territory on a sneaking mission.
Metal Gear Solid was previously turned into a Phantom Pain trailer, as well.
YongYea has also released his in-depth analysis of the new Mother Base in Metal Gear Solid 5.
