A new Fatal Frame for the Wii U is coming to Japan. No word on a North American release. Tear.
Zero: Nuregarasu no Miku aka Fatal Frame: The Black-Haired Shrine Maiden arrives in Japan on September 27 for the Wii U.
No release date has been set for North America, which might not get the game at all. We might not get to play it at all. 2008's Fatal Frame 4, the latest installment in the series, never arrived in North America.
For those unfamiliar with the series, Fatal Frame is all about the J-horror: spooky ghosts, haunted water, and a camera as the protagonist's only defense. This series has provided ultimate scares since 2001. It's a shame America has been missing out on the fun lately.
Here's the trailer for the newest installment:
Worst place to wake up in a J-horror game: a body of water. She already done f***** up. That creepy robed spirit looks crazy scary.
The main character is Yuri Kozukata, the black-haired shrine maiden, who can see ghosts from the spirit plane and bring them back to the world of the living. She is asked to find a ghost in Hikamiyama, a mountainous location with plenty of water. In her journey, she runs into some particularly spooky ghosts, which probably want to eat her. Good thing she has her trusty camera to keep the spirits away. You know how much evil entities hate flash.
Keep your fingers crossed, America!

Fuck yeah it made us cry, think about the Wii U release schedule for this year if it had also been announced for September. In Sep. we'd get Hyrule Warriors and Fatal Frame. In Oct we'd get Bayo and Bayo 2. In Nov we'd get Watch Dogs and Smash 3DS. Last, for Dec we'd get Smash Bros Wii U. That's a SOLID release schedule, and woud definitely have people considering the console. 6 games that appeal to a hardcore audience in 4 moths (granted we can honestly say 6 months due to this month and next no major games that appeal to the hardcore crowd is coming.)
(And yes I know I mentioned 7 games, but I'm only counting the Wii U games, and Smash is on there twice.)
