The latest commentary trailer for Assassin's Creed Unity takes a look at co-op heist missions...
Ubisoft is trying to cram more gameplay variety into the latest Assassin's Creed, and this variety will also come with the vaunted co-op mechanic. Working with others will introduce a whole new mechanic to the series, and avoiding or taking out guards without alerting your foes will require planning and true teamwork. A good example of this can be seen in the latest commented trailer for the game, which you can see below.
The trailer looks at the new heist missions, which sees the assassins infiltrate an area to steal important artefacts from the Templars, whilst attempting to remain undetected. In order to get to the loot without causing mass slaughter, players need to work with each other, synchronising attacks and movements to avoid or dispatch guards silently. It's al very reminiscent ofSplinter Cell's co-op multiplayer.
Once the treasure has been found, players then need to escape without raising alarms. If teams are discovered, the value of the loot is reduced. This loot is important, as it's used to customise and power up the game's protagonist, Arno.
The heist missions are being designed to be replayable, something Ubisoft wants to actively encourage. To facilitate this, certain aspects, such as loot and guard postilions, will be random, changing each time you play. Have a look at the trailer below and see the mode in action.
Following news of a delay, Assassin's Creed Unity will be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on November 11 in the US, and on November 13 in Europe.
