Pre-ordering the game will also give you access to a multiplayer DLC that lets you invade the games of other players.
Techland has revealed the new release date for their first-person parkour zombie romp, Dying Light, and it turns out that we’ll have the chance to play it a little sooner than expected: as in, the very start of next year. That’s right, Dying Light will officially launch on January 27, 2015 in North America.
The developer has detailed a special pre-order on the game’s official website that grants you access to a DLC mode called Be The Zombie. This DLC is described as a “competitive asymmetric multiplayer mode” where you can invade other players’ games as the dangerous Night Hunter. Techland has also recently released a new developer diary which outlines the game’s core Natural Movement system, and you can watch that for a little refresher course right below this paragraph.
Could the decision to release the game in January have been made to offset the huge number of heavy-hitters that will also be dropping in February, such as Evolve, The Order: 1886, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, for starters? Either way, it’s certainly good news for us! Dying Light will be available on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
