TGS 2014 has seen some trailers emerge for a glut of new Final Fantasy titles, and you can see them here...
If you're a Final Fantasy fan, and around 60 existing releases, spanning 14 core games and the plethora of spin-offs just isn't enough to satisfy that JRPG hunger, then you'll be pleased to know that Square Enix is splurging out not one, or two, but four more Final Fantasy titles. And no, there's still no sign of a remake of Final Fantasy VII. We do get to play that Gold Saucer motorbike mini game again, though.
Below you'll find the four trailers for the upcoming Final Fantasy assault shown at TGS 2014. The first of the titles, Final Fantasy VII: G-Bike is an Android and iOS title, and the second, and Final Fantasy: Agito+ is for PS Vita. The other two are full-grown current gen releases.
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD brings action-focused combat in the world of Orience to Xbox One and PS4, wrapped up in a 'gritty worldview' according to the press release. It's set for launch on March 17, 2015 in the US, March 19 for Japan, and March 20 for Europe. It'll come with a demo of Final Fantasy XV, which also got a trailer.
Final Fantasy XV is the next core instalment of the series, and for my money is the most interesting of the new releases. This also features a new, action-centric combat system, but also takes place in an open world, apparently one that you'll drive around in a rather nifty-looking car.
Of the two current gen titles, this certainly looks the most impressive in terms of visuals and presentation, and it also looks like a genuine departure for the series. However, with so many fans crying out for a return to the classic Final Fantasy style, and not a more action-style direction, we'll have to see how well this new vision for the popular RPG fares when it arrives on Xbox One and PS4. Have a look at the trailers below and see for yourself.
