Here's a very extended look at Battleborn, the new FPS MOBA from Gearbox!
So many MOBAs have sprung out of the ground in the past two years that it's impossible to keep up. But Gearbox's new take on the popular genre isn't one you're bound to miss. It's not your usual MOBA.
For one thing, it's an FPS -- these guys made Borderlands after all. Second, the world on which the new game, titled Battleborn, takes place is rich with lore and deadly enemies to vanquish on your path towards victory.
In a new 20-minute dev talk from Gearbox, we get a good glimpse at Battleborn -- a bit about all the different factions, the story of Solus, and the kinds of things you'll be able to do while in combat. The gamplay demo begins at around 4:30 into the video.

Gearbox, who are also working on Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!, could use a home run after last year's devastating Aliens: Colonial Marines, which was undoubtedly one of the facepalm games of the year. From what we've seen of Battleborn so far, with its unique art style and characters, we'd say Gearbox might just deliver the first great "MOBA" experience on consoles.
Battleborn will arrive in 2015 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
