Sometimes the better choice is to just go with new gameplay footage. Insomniac Games learned this the hard way.
Did you know that Insomniac Games once tried to make a live action trailer for their upcoming Xbox One exclusive, Sunset Overdrive? It’s true! The only problem is that the game is so ridiculously intense that more than a few elements were a little hard to replicate using human actors. Luckily, we now have a behind-the-scenes look at what went wrong during the project, so get ready to watch the most wonderful and hilarious trailer you’ll see all day.
Even though the latest Sunset Overdrivetrailer doesn’t feature any actual gameplay footage per se, it does include the biting and self-aware humor that Insomniac Games has become known for throughout their time developing the Ratchet and Clank series. Now Sunset Overdrive has given them the platform to extend their humor in wildly violent new directions!
When you’re done watching the hysterical trailer for the first time, you can then go back and watch it a second time using the video’s interactive features which let you click on certain objects on screen as it plays. Sunset Overdrive will be available exclusively for Xbox One on October 28, 2014.
