The sequel will feature an improved combo system, a new art style, and splitscreen multiplayer.
Indie developer Roll7 has announced a sequel to their beloved and hugely popular skating game, OlliOlli. Officially titled OlliOlli 2: Welcome to OlliWood, the upcoming sequel features an upgraded combo system, an improved framerate, and brand new visuals that do away with the old pixel art style, thanks to the game’s move to Sony’s Phyre game engine.
From a gameplay perspective, OlliWood is also more expansive than the original in almost every way. Gone are the linear levels of OlliOlli, replaced now with multiple routes that can be accessed by landing jumps off of strategically placed ramps and hills. The dozens of new levels will also take players across five different environments, including Wild, Wild West, Aztec, and the titular OlliWood. And as if that’s somehow not enough bang for your buck, the sequel will also feature splitscreen local multiplayer that supports up to four skaters.
OlliOlli 2: Welcome to OlliWood is expected to launch for PS4 and PS Vita sometime in 2015. In the meantime, you can check out a quick teaser video of all the revamped skating action that’s going to be in store.
