If you were waiting for pumpkins or Santa Hats, you're going to be disappointed as WildStar's holiday content has been cancelled..
Bad news aplenty on today's Nexus Report from Carbine Studios as the company revealed that there will be no holiday content coming to WildStar in 2014, including the already announced Shade's Eve. All holiday content has been cancelled until further notice.
That means no Halloween stuff, no Christmas stuff, no beer-related festivals, or any of the like in 2014. This news came as a huge disappointment to WildStar fans whom were told by Carbine pre-release that there would be holiday content. It may not seem like a huge deal to those that don't play MMOs (I'm looking at you, John Saavedra), but holiday content has always been an important part of MMOs, including World of Warcraft's Brewfest and Guild Wars 2's Hallow's Eve. And, especially because of WildStar's awesome housing system, the potential for community driven holiday social events was huge. (Some people already began building a haunted house, you know). Pff, nerds.
It was also announced during today's Nexus Report that Game Design Producer Stephan Frost is leaving the company to move onto other things. That makes two of the game's core designers that have jumped ship before it has even been six months since release.
But we did get a little glimmer of light from today's stream: Megaservers are expected to go live in the next two or three weeks at the latest, and Drop 3 is still coming, being tentatively scheduled for last week in October or first week in November.
Still though, no holidays? ScroogeStar, anyone? No? Too soon?
