Get a new look at the gameplay and features of Sonic’s next adventure on the Nintendo 3DS!
As Sonic currently revs up for his next adventure in the Sonic Boom universe, today gamers are treated to a special behind the scenes look with Sanzaru Games, who is heading up the development of Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystalon the Nintendo 3DS. In the video, you’ll get a fresh new look at the delicious 2.5D platforming gameplay, as well as a deeper insight into newcomer character Sticks, who is exclusive to the 3DS version of Sonic Boom, and who uses her boomerang to unlock tons of exciting secrets.
As one of the very few Western developers to ever work with the iconic Sonicbrand, Sanzaru Games made sure to incorporate much of the blue hedgehog’s past into his upcoming adventures. But of course, that’s certainly not to say that Shattered Crystal doesn’t bring a whole lot that’s new to the franchise either: such as four playable characters with unique move sets that encourage deeper exploration of the environments; a new swinging mechanic that utilizes interbeam tether points to traverse vast chasms; and the sinister new villain named Lyric.
Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystalwill be released on November 11 for the 3DS, the same day as its open-world counterpart Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric will hit the Wii U.
