The PS4 has hit more technical difficulties with the recent 2.0 firmware upgrade...
The recent firmware 2.0 upgrade for the PS4 hasn't gone as smoothly as Sony would have hoped, and users have reported all sorts of problems and glitches with their consoles since applying the update earlier this week.
Various problems have been reported, including game install corruptions, random shut downs of the PS4, and even the inability to turn the console back on after entering Rest Mode.
Sony has issued a statement saying that it's aware of the issues, and is looking into them.
"We're aware of issues reported by some PS4 users following the release of PS4's latest system software update, v2.00," Said a Sony representative.
"We're investigating these issues and will provide an update once we have more information."
At the time of writing, Sony hasn't issued any more comments of updates, and it's not clear just how widespread these issues are. However, there is hope for Rest Mode issues, if you've been affected.
If your PS4 doesn't turn back on after going into Rest Mode, simply unplug the PS4's power, turn on the console (via the button on the unit), and let the residual power drain. Plug it back in and it should turn on as normal. It'd be wise to avoid using the Rest Mode until Sony has addressed the 2.0 issues. Cue the Xbox fan, and PC master race assault.
