The "who would win in a fight?" webseries unleashes one of its more requested showdowns as Marvel and DC's merc masters fight it out.
It’s been ten years since the last real Marvel/DC crossover and it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting another one for quite some time if ever. That’s a shame to certain fans as the two counterparts who are literally made for killing each other are never going to get a chance to clash swords in an official capacity. We would never get to see Slade Wilson, AKA Deathstroke the Terminator, go face-to-face with his knockoff Wade Wilson, AKA Deadpool the Merc with a Mouth.
Though they did have that unofficial showdown in Superman/Batman Annual #1 where Deathstroke fought his Earth 3 self, as written by Joe Kelly.

And there was a quick panel of Deadpool taking out Deathstroke with a black and red color scheme in Deadpool Kills Deadpool #4. Still, Marvel and DC will never see eye-to-eye and give us a real fight between the two.
Luckily, we can at least watch as Death Battle gives us the next best thing via a computer animated fight to the end. Originally, the newest fight and 39th episode was supposed to be Kirby vs. Majin Buu, but due to some animation issues, they’ve tabled it to give us one of the all-time most requested fights: Deadpool vs. Deathstroke.
For the uninitiated, Death Battle is a series on Screw Attack created four years ago by Ben Singer and Chad James. Two fictional characters are chosen and matched up against each other. Two commentators Wiz (voiced by Singer) and Boomstick (voiced by James) run down a lengthy tale of the tape between the choices. Origins, skills, weapons, etc. are explained with Wiz playing it straight and going over the more scientific knowledge while Boomstick loudly cracks jokes and talks about butts and explosions and stuff. Once that’s done with, we get an animated fight scene (usually via 2D sprite animation) where the two characters fight to the death for several minutes. Once there’s only one man or woman or robot standing, Wiz and Boomstick explain the logic of why that character won.
It’s really fun to watch even if the guy you were rooting for gets taken out. Plus the fights tend to be a blast to watch. So without further ado, here is Deadpool vs. Deathstroke.
Huge props to Torrian Crawford and everyone else who put the effort into this video.
If you’re new to the series, I also suggest checking out Shao Kahn vs. M. Bison, He-Man vs. Lion-O, Terminator vs. RoboCop, and the controversial Superman vs. Goku. Oh, and while Fulgore vs. Sektor isn’t the most interesting Death Battle on the surface, it’s totally worth watching just for Boomstick’s awed reaction to the Lin Kuei’s master plan.
Kirby vs. Majin Buu will likely be available next Friday.
