Lots of Evolve updates this morning: a new monster has been revealed, as well as January beta dates!
So here's a bunch of great Evolvenews: first, January beta dates have been announced. Jan. 15-19 will be the last time you'll be able to go hunting before the game releases on Feb. 10. Oh, and it's an open beta, so if you didn't get a chance to join the Big Alpha, here's your shot. Just beware that this is an Xbox One exclusive beta. PC and PS4 owners will still get a chance to play the beta if they're invited by 2K to participate.
The beta will feature the Goliath and the Kraken, as well as 8 hunters and 12 maps. That's a bit more stuff than the Big Alpha, although you won't be able to hunt down the newest monster in the game:
Meet the terrifying Wraith. If you thought the electrifying Kraken was a challenge, wait until you have to fight a monster that has invisibility camo. This octopus-like creature with blades for arms continues the Lovecraftian work Turtle Rock Studios began with the Kraken. There's a lot of Cthulhu in this game...wait, is the final monster ACTUALLY Cthulhu? Nah, I kid.
The Wraith introduces an element of the hunt that isn't immediately at the forefront when playing against the other two monsters: fear. The fact that you can be snatched up by an unseen monster at any moment in the jungle...well, you tell me if that isn't a perfect setup for some awesome matches.
