Games Workshop's tabletop wargame Battlefleet Gothic is to become an RTS. Here are the first screenshots...
NewsIn Games Workshop's tabletop game Battlefleet Gothic, gigantic, ludicrously ornate warships blasted at one another in the depths of space. It was like Battlestar Galactica crossed with Coventry cathedral, thanks to Games Workshop's typically detailed miniatures bristling with ornate turrets and spires.
The physical game was discontinued in 2013, but it like Johnny Depp in Transcendence, it will live on in the digital realm. Tindalos Interactive (in partnership with publisher Focus Home Interactive) has announced that it's making Battlefleet Gothic: Armada.
Reimagined as a real-time strategy game, Armada will, like its tabletop predecessor, see players take control of a heavily-armed battlefleet belonging to Imperial, Chaos, Eldar or Ork hordes. The game will be powered by Unreal Engine 4, and while it's still early days for Armada, the first screenshots give us plenty of what we'd expect: big, ornate ships and lots of cannons going off everywhere.
More news on Battlefleet Gothic: Armada as it comes in. Until then, here are those fancy first screenshots:
