The recent, last gen outing for Assassin's Creed is coming to PC, and there's an official release date and trailer...

Although it was largely overshadowed by Unity, with Ubisoft focusing on the next gen title, many believe that the better of last year's Assassin's Creed releases was, in fact, the last gen title, Assassin's Creed Rogue. This is now leaving console shores, and is coming to PC on March 10.

Set during the Seven Year War, Rogue was a sequel to the acclaimed Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, functioning as a link between AC III and IV, and retained much of the same gameplay style, including naval warfare. Whilst Unity stripped back the game to the more basic, earlier concept, with more of a focus on stealth and co-op, Rogue embraced the new direction of Black Flag, and added new tweaks, such as the Arctic setting, new ship weapons, and its Templar focus, as the protagonist, Shay Patrick, turns against the Assassin order and joins their enemy.

The enhanced PC release will also include an eye-tracking function. Players making use of the SteelSeries Sentry, which is equipped with eye tracking capabilities, will be able to look left and right whilst playing the game to pan the camera. Ubisoft says this will create an 'infinite screen' experience, whatever that means.

Pre-orders of Rogue on PC through the Uplay Shop will also be eligible to receive a free Assassin's Creed game, and pre-ordering the digital version of the game will award two bonus packs, The Siege of Fort de Sable, and The Explorer. There's also a Collector's Bundle on the Uplay Shop, which comes with special box, artbook, three lithographs, and the soundtrack, as well as an exclusive mission and items.

Ubisoft hasn't mentioned anything about a release of Rogue on current gen platforms, but I can't see the company missing out on more potential sales, so expect a port sometime soon.
