NewsEvolve, the much-anticipated soldiers-versus-giant monster shooter, is out tomorrow (that's February 10th). And as Turtle Rock gears up for launch day, it's announced that a hefty 3GB day-one patch has been readied to coincide with it.
The patch will, the studio announced on its website, make a few fine tweaks to the game's balance, speed up loading times and fix several bugs. These last-minute changes apparently came as a result of Evolve's open beta weekend in January, by which time the game had already gone gold.
"As a result, on day one – before you even start your first match on the live servers – we’ve made a number of refinements through a day-one patch," Turtle Rock's update reads. "The size will vary depending upon your system, but it’s about 3GB and contains the following improvements that will make your Evolve experience even better."
While it's better that a game is fixed on release rather than after days of frustrating bugs, 3GB is a hefty slab of data to download. You can find out more about the patch at Evolve's website.
