Street Fighter V: Charlie Footage and M. Bison Announced

When Street Fighter V was first announced, they gave us some footage of the series’ two main icons, Ryu and Chun-Li, and had them go to town. It ended with a glimpse that classic character Charlie Nash would make his grand return. All we could see was that he had his trademark hair, glasses, and now some kind of jewel on his head, cryptically explaining why he's no longer dead.

Today, Capcom’s released a new trailer that shows off Charlie in-game. Not only is he back, but he’s also some kind of horrific Frankenstein’s monster.

While Ryu and Chun-Li have been shown to more or less be how you’d expect Ryu and Chun-Li to play, Charlie’s mysterious transformation has certainly added a wrinkle or two to his play style. Not only does he have teleports, but he also has a move that works very similar to Akuma’s Raging Demon. He also seems a lot more sinister in his pre-fight dialogue, outright threatening to murder Chun-Li.

Charlie's look is very reminiscent of Shadow, a Shadaloo-controlled version of him that appeared in Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom, and the UDON Street Fighter comics.

That’s not the only big news, though. By pre-ordering Street Fighter Vfor PlayStation 4 or PC, you will get to beta test the game. Capcom apparently wants to go full ham on this and details will be revealed in the future.

Speaking of reveals, the final moments of that trailer make it pretty apparent that M. Bison will be showing up to once again lay waste to his enemies. The day they announced that the leader of Shadaloo will be in Street Fighter V is the most important day in your life. But for him? It’s Tuesday.

There’s no announce date for Street Fighter V yet outside of sometime in 2016.
