It's confirmed: Star Wars Battlefront will debut at this year's Star Wars Celebration!
NewsElectronic Arts has confirmed that their first Star Wars game, Battlefront, will officially debut at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, CA on April 16.
It is not clear whether the debut means just a gameplay trailer or a full hands-on demo for attendees. We'll keep you updated on that.
In a note to fans, the company said:
"We could not think of a better or more appropriate place to debut the game officially for the first time than the premier event that celebrates the Star Wars universe and the legions of fans who have fallen in love with it."
Star Wars Battlefront, of course, is the highly-anticipated spiritual successor to the fantastic series from Pandemic Studios. Those games were published by LucasArts until the company's doors were closed.
Battlefront is being developed by DICE, who are the guys behind the Battlefieldseries. It really sounds like a match made in heaven. The game is the first in a series of games being developed by Electronic Arts, now that they have exclusive video game rights to the license.
No release date has been set, but EA has told us to expect it this year for PC, PS4, and XBO.
Visceral Games is also developing a mystery title for current-gen consoles.
