The war between Earthrealm, Outworld, and Netherrealm comes to a head in this official launch trailer. Featuring System of a Down.
TrailerWe’re eight days from Mortal Kombat X and to help hype it up, NetherRealm Studios has released a new launch trailer. Much like the TV spot they came out with a few weeks ago, it features the tried and true System of a Down track “Chop Suey,” only this time they’re able to really match it up with the song more than just a well-timed, “WAKE UP!”
Here’s the trailer, which features a whole lot of story mode footage.
Some notes:
- Pretty funny that undead Nightwolf appears during the “self-righteous suicide” part, considering that’s kind of how he died in the first place.
- Gnarly Liu Kang Fatality.
- Undead Kabal riding a zombie horse while beheading people with his hook swords is my new jam.
- Guys like Rain and Baraka are shown. They aren’t playable, but you can fight their Mortal Kombat 9 incarnations in story mode apparently.
- Tanya also shows up very briefly. Though you get to fight her here, she will later be available as DLC.
- Getting some nice DC Crisis on Infinite Earths flashbacks from the gathering red skies.
