Be still our screaming wallets. The toys-to-life gaming sector's a rapidly growing one these days, with Skylanders joined by Disney Infinity and Nintendo's Amiibo range.

To those we can now add Lego Dimensions, a joint venture with Warner Bros. Games that unites the world of video games with physical Lego toys.

Emerging first on Reddit, Lego Dimensions will initially take the form of a Starter Pack, which will include the game itself, a set of three minifigures - Batman, Gandalf and WyldStyle from The Lego Movie - a Toy Pad, which lets players link the figures to the game itself, and also a Lego Batmobile.

"When a mysterious and powerful vortex suddenly appears in various Lego worlds," a description on Reddit reads,"different characters from DC Comics, Lord of the Rings and the Lego Movie are swept away. To save their friends, Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle bravely jump into the vortex to rescue their friends and fight to save all of Lego humanity. Let your creativity be your guide as you build the LEGO Gateway to adventure, journeying through unexpected worlds and teaming-up with unlikely allies on the quest to defeat the evil Lord Vortech."

There's even a look at the box. Look:

Although the image above is of the Wii U version, it's also being made for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. According to this listing at Toys R Us, it'll retail for $99.99 in America.

Other characters and properties teased in the description include Bad Cop from The Lego Movie, the DeLorean from Back to the Future, and the cast of Ninjago. Aside from the Starter Pack, there'll be additional sets available in the future. In an additional statement, Warner revealed that a Wizard of Oz themed pack will be among the first wave available in 2015:

"A small sample of packs available in 2015 include the Back to the Future Level Pack with a LEGO Marty McFly minifigure, a Lego Ninjago Team Pack with Kai and Cole minifigures, three Ninjago Fun Packs with Jay, Nya and Zane minifigures, two DC Comics Fun Packs with Wonder Woman and Cyborg minifigures, three The Lord of the Rings Fun Packs with Lego Gollum, Lego Gimli and Lego Legolas minifigures, four The Lego Movie Fun packs with Emmet, Bad Cop, Benny and Unikitty characters, and a The Wizard of Oz Fun Pack with a Lego Wicked Witch of the West minifigure"

There's even a trailer to go with the reveal:

What the game will be like is anyone's guess, but we're assuming it'll be very much like Traveller's Tales' series of action adventure games, albeit with a toys-to-life twist.

Lego Dimensions is set to launch on the Sept. 29.
