Sony President Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed that the PlayStation 4 will not use a power brick, but will have the power supply housed within the console itself.
Microsoft, on the other hand, will apparently use a power brick, like the Xbox 360 did.
I'm not sure what all the fuss about, though. Power brick, no power brick; why does it matter? My Xbox 360 is set-up so that you cannot see the brick, anyway (like most gamers have done, also). Laptops have power bricks, also, so it's not a new concept or anything like that.
Powerful devices require massive amounts of power, which usually causes a lot of heat. And, with all of the overheating problems the Xbox 360 had, Microsoft is probably better off utilizing a brick. I'd rather have a brick than red rings of death.

I agree, I'd rather have a brick than the red ring of death.
But you know...I'd rather not have a brick or a rrod, so I'll get a PS4.
