We still haven't seen much of Mirror's Edge 2 yet, but EA DICE says its free-running sequel's coming out in 2016...
NewsRight now, EA DICE is busy putting the finishing touches to Star Wars: Battlefront, due out in November. Meanwhile, a contingent at the Swedish developer is - we're guessing - working on the next Mirror's Edge.
The first game came out way back in 2008, and while it wasn't perfect, its sense of speed and agility felt thoroughly refreshing when its mechanics and level design all clicked together. After years of uncertainty, rumours of a sequel began to circulate in 2012, before DICE formally announced the project in 2014.
Since Mirror's Edge 2's unveiling at last year's E3, little's been seen or heard from the game, but rest assured - it's still happening.
EA's recently-published financial reports reveal that the company plans to release Mirror's Edge 2 in 2016, with the first quarter of that year (between January and March, fact fans) the window it has in mind.
If EA DICE can get this one right, then we could have an exciting new game series on our hands.
More news on Mirror's Edge 2as we get it. Until then, here's the announcement trailer from last year...
