343 Industries just announced Halo Wars 2 at Gamescom 2015. Here's the first trailer!
Trailer"And the crowd went wild" is an understatement when it comes to 343's reveal of Halo Wars 2, the sequel to 2009's RTS spinoff series that seemed dead after all of these years. Although it didn't quite appeal to hardcore RTS fans, Halo fans have been asking for a sequel for years, especially after the first game ended on an infamous cliffhanger.
The first game took place years before the Fall of Reach and events of Halo: Combat Evolved, and with the inclusion of Brutes in this new game, we're left to wonder if this game takes place during the events of Halo 2and Halo 3. Or possibly this will the Brutes first in-game chronological appearace. That remains to be seen.

Halo Wars 2 is due out in 2016 for XBO and PC.
