Showtime says it's still developing that Halo TV series it announced two years back.
NewsUpdate 08.13.15: It would seem that Steven Spielberg's HaloTV series is still under development at Showtime, but don't expect to see it on screens any time soon.
At the Television Critics Association press tour yesterday, IGNasked Showtime president David Nevins if there were any updates on the series, which he answered quite simply, "It's still in development. Still in very active development."
When asked when we might see this series, Nevins said, "No time soon."
The TV series was originally slated to coincide with the release of Halo 5: Guardians, but that's definitely a thing of the past. At one point, the Halo TV series was even going to be Xbox One exclusive. It's safe to say that's also out the window.
We'll keep you updated on this as we learn more.
Original Story 05.03.14: At E3 2013, Microsoft announced during their press conference that a Halo TV series was incoming with Hollywood icon Steven Spielberg producing. When it was announced, it sounded like it would be a way for Microsoft to sell some Xbox Ones.
However, we now know that the Halo TV series will be available not only on the Xbox One, but the Xbox 360 as well. Yesterday, we also learned that Showtime is very close to a deal with Xbox Studios to develop the series, according to Variety.

The live-action Halo TV series is yet to have a director or showrunner attached to the project.
According to Variety, "The deal with Showtime has taken a long time to work out because the sides are charting new territory for a show designed to air on Showtime as well as Xbox, with enhanced interactivity built in for the latter platform. Details are still being hammered out but sources say the plan is to have episodes bow on Showtime first, followed by the Xbox window."
But don't worry Xbox fans, you'll still have at least one exclusive--that mega-cool soccer show! Because, you know, that's EXACTLY what American Xbox fans want.
