NewsPlans remain active for a film based on the hugely successful Gran Turismo series of video games. This is a project that's been active for a few years now, with little sign of firm progress. But presumably with one eye on the megabucks that the Fast & Furious movies have been generating, Sony is pushing this one forward.
Previously, Watchmen screenwriter Alex Tse had been working on a script for a Gran Turismo film. The latest, though, is that Jon and Erich Hoeber, who penned RED, will be tackling the screenplay.
Furthermore, Joseph Kosinski, director of Oblivion and TRON: Legacy, is helming this one. When Kosinski joined the film, the story was set to centre on a videogamer who became a racing car driver. There may well have been a change of direction there, though.
