If you're excited about Metal Gear Online, here's a good, long look at its forthcoming online mode...
The PC version of Metal Gear Online has been a long time coming, with console users having enjoyed the multiplayer experience for several months now. But Konami's finally announced that Metal Gear Online's open beta finally goes live today.
The announcement came from the game's community manager, who confirmed the dates on Steam, but warned that, "While that's our target time, there's a chance it'll slip by an hour or two as we implement this awaited update, but rest assured we will be here for support and launch as planned."
While the future of the Metal Gear series is somewhat clouded, given the much-publicized departure of Hideo Kojima, Konami still has plans to continue it in some form.
Original Story 09.18.15:
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain may be out already - and the subject of rave reviews, like ours - but it's not the only stealth-based experience Konami has in store. For console users, there's still the much-anticipated Metal Gear Online to look forward to, which comes out on Oct. 6. PC users, meanwhile will have to wait until next year.
If you're champing at the bit to see what Metal Gear Online will play like, then feast your eyes on the 10 minutes of gameplay we have for you below...
It shows off all the different ways players can approach a mission depending on class. You can stun enemies and leave them floating out of the battlefield. Scouts can take out enemies from afar with their sniper rifles, while the Enforcer Class has a less subtle, more Schwarzenegger-from-Commando approach to warfare.
It's a slick-looking game, and promises to bring an entirely new angle to an already expansive game.
