We have a new trailer for the upcoming Umbrella Corps, which is coming out in May!
Umbrella Corps is a new multiplayer shooter in the Resident Evil series, the first since Operation Raccoon City, which failed to make a splash with the shooter community. Capcom hopes to change that with its latest attempt, though. And what we've seen and played so far is pretty impressive. It'll definitely be different from what you've played before.
You won't have to wait too long to try it yourself, either. The game is dated for May 2016, with a proper date to be revealed soon.
For now, here's a new trailer, showing off a new map inspired by Resident Evil 4:
Original Story 09.15.15:
Capcom hit the stage at Sony's pre-TGS conference today to announce its next Resident Evil game, an online multiplayer shooter called Umbrella Corps, which will be out in early 2016, in time for the 20th anniversary of the franchise.
The publisher also unveiled the first gameplay trailer for the game, which gives us a good look at how the team-based game will work. The footage suggests that two teams of Umbrella soldiers go head to head in a deathmatch mode, which also features zombies as an added threat. But you can also use the zombies tactically or repel them with special gear.
Check out the gameplay trailer:
This isn't the first time Capcom has experimented with a Resident Evil team-based multiplayer shooter. Some of you might still remember 2012's Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, which was ultimately a pretty regrettable addition to the series. It's interesting that Capcom is taking this route again, but I think the concept could work with a few tweaks.
Umbrella Corps is coming to PS4 and PC, and it will cost $29.99.
