Get ready for some big changes coming to Destiny multiplayer...
Bungie announced in a new blog post that changes are coming to Destiny's multiplayer component. The changes will arrive on Feb. 9 in time for the Valentine's Day event "Crimson Days." The changes are as follow:
Players will no longer have any special ammo at the start of 3v3 Crucible matches, in order "to increase the use of primary weapons, especially at match-start." Rumble, which is a 6-player free-for-all, will not be affected by these changes, though.
Bungie is also adding "Freelance" playlists to the Crucible. Made up of 6v6 and 3v3 game types, the Freelance modes are for players who play solo in multiplayer instead of with a fireteam. This should level the playing field a bit more, eliminating the advantage of fireteams over solo players.
Besides all that, Bungie is also promising a couple of more fixes to improve lag-reduction in Crucible playlists. The Trials of Osiris will be the main focus of these fixes.
