The Wii U is getting a price drop next month, but I'm still pretty sure no one cares...

Nintendo has confirmed that there will be a $50 price drop for the Wii U console later this year.  Starting on September 20, the Wii U Deluxe model will be priced at $299.99, as well as the Wind Waker HD bundle.

"Really, the focus on heightening the value for Wii U is now that we are in a position where we've got a regular pace of great software. Pikmin 3, new Super Luigi U that just launched physically, Wonderful 101 in September, and then Wind Waker. Then we've got strong third-party content coming for the holidays as well. Scribblenauts, Skylanders, Sonic Lost World, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin's Creed IV, Watch Dogs. So, strong pace of first-party, strong third-party content. Now's the time to make the Wii U even more affordable and heighten the value," Reggie Fils-Aime told IGN.

Hey Nintendo--nobody cares.  I am pretty sure that it wasn't the $50 extra holding people back from buying the console. Now, if you were to drop the price to $249, you'd more than likely get a few more buys.  Until Nintendo gets some incredible exclusives for the Wii U (which likely won't happen), no one is going to play the Wii U.  No one is going to pick the Wii U's Call of Duty: Ghosts over the Xbox or PlayStation's version.

More importantly, for $100 more, you can save that $299.99 and buy a PlayStation 4 a month later. Yeah...I'm pretty sure people will be doing that, instead.

In the past, I would say "I'll care when a new Metroid game comes out", but after the fiasco of Other M ...

Your right, $50 less isn't a BIG enough price break to get folks running out to buy a Wii-U (and great point about, just for $100 more ppl can get the New PS4) ...
Nintendo really does need to drop their console price much further and/or get some exclusive titles ... something to make their unit a must-have.
As of right-now ... The Wii-U is looking more like PU (as in you STINK!)
... Sorry Mario.
