Metroid Prime: Federation Force lets players take the fight to the Space Pirates in this new trailer!
During March 3rd's Nintendo Direct, the Big N dropped a new trailer for Metroid Prime: Federation Force that shows off some of the game's four-player co-op action. In the game, you play as a soldier of the Galactic Federation, who, with the help of three friends and a mech suit, must take the fight to the Space Pirate scum. It looks...well, it looks like something alright.
Check out the new trailer:
Nintendo has never been afraid to follow its creative vision, even if that means risking the ire of its most dedicated fans. Metroid Prime: Federation Force is certainly a testament to that. Not only does it carry the name of one of the most beloved series in the Big N's history even though it doesn't feature Samus Aran, but it actually doesn't really look like a Metroid Prime game at all. The subtlety of its exploration seems to be gone, replaced for an arcade shooter-style of play. Federation Force looks fast-paced, hectic, and maybe even a little fun if you bring three friends along with you.
We'll just have to wait and find out. Metroid Prime: Federation Force is set to arrive Late Spring 2016 for the 3DS.
Original Story 06.16.15:
Metroid Prime: Federation Force is Retro Studios' new game, featuring an all-new take on the sci-fi franchise we know in love. Yes, it's a bit bewildering, but Retro's history with the series is enough for us to give them our complete trust. The game arrives for 3DS at some point in 2016.
The game unites four friends to fight off monsters in the "Metroid Prime universe" in co-op play action. Also included in the package is Metroid Prime: Blast Ball, which is a sort of take on soccer where you have to blast a ball into a goal. It's a 3v3 game, and it's definitely different.
Is this the game we expected? No way, but as long as it isn't Other M...
