Original Story 01.26.16:
EA has announced its first bit of DLC for Star Wars Battlefront, and laid out plans for what's ahead in the next few months. The first of four DLC packs is called Outer Rim, and it unlock new locations on both Sullust and Tatooine.
According to the publisher, the new map on Tatooine is in fact Jabba's Palace. The other new map will allow you to "fight among the factories of Sullust." Jabba's Palace joins other classic locations from the Original Trilogy, such as the forests of Endor and the wartorn trenches of Hoth.
The second DLC pack, which is scheduled for Q2 2016, will add Cloud City to the mix. Then in Q3, a new DLC will unlock the Death Star. The final DLC pack won't arrive until early 2017.
All of this will come as part of Battlefront's $50 season pass. If you don't want to cough up the cash, there's a bit of free content coming to the game, as well:
In February, EA will release a new survival mission on Hoth and a new multiplayer map that will support Walker Assault, Supremacy, Fighter Squadron, and Turning Point. In fact, Turning Point will become available on all maps that currently support Walker Assault and Supremacy.
March will see the release of a new survival mission on Tatooine and a new multiplayer map on Endor.
