The new game from Keiji Inafune has suffered numerous delays, but now you’ll finally be able to play Mighty No. 9 this June.
Mega Man spiritual successor Mighty No. 9has officially gone gold and been given a brand new release date. Since first being announced in late 2013 and crushing its initial Kickstarter goals in mere days, Mighty No. 9 has suffered a number of increasingly notorious delays, the most recent of which having occurred this past February.
Today, the game’s legendary creator Keiji Inafune has offered up another apology for the embattled release, along with a new date that we can finally expect to play the side-scrolling action game: June 21, 2016 in North America and Asia, and June 24, 2016 worldwide. Inafune says, “We understand that as a result of the various delays we have disappointed and let down our fans, but we are happy to finally be able to deliver the game to everyone who brought us this far.”
In the same announcement message, Inafune promises that the June release dates are “set in stone and there will be no further delays for the game.” However, the PS Vita and 3DS versions of the game are still said to “follow at a later point.”
You can read the full note from Inafune on the official Mighty No. 9blog. The game will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
