Check out the very first image of Mega Man in his new animated series!

Update 1 - 05.26.16:

We haven't heard much about the upcoming Mega Mananimated series from the creators of Ben 10in the last few months, but it looks they're finally ready to break the silence on the adaptation. IGN has an exclusive first look at what the Blue Bomber is going to look like in the new show:

As you can see, it's Mega Man as you know and love him—the blue armor, helmet, and cannon. The blue of the armor is a tad darker than the traditional light blue, and it's also a bit shinier.

The story will focus on Aki Light, a seemingly normal kid who has the ability to transform into Mega Man. Classic characters such as Mega Man's robotic pet dog, Rush, will make an appearance on the show.

"The best thing about Mega Man is his unflinching wide-eyed optimism and an over-the-top sense of humor," Duncan Rouleau, one of the creators of the show, said. "This show reflects both qualities. We've got it all in there, it's hopeful, forward-leaning, action-packed... it's full on fun ahead."

Original Story - 06.03.15:

Ben 10 creators Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle (the quartet behind Man of Action Entertainment) are developing a new Mega Man animated TV series for Capcom for a 26-episode run.

The new Mega Manseries has a target air date of 2017, coinciding with the franchise’s 30th anniversary. The very first video game title launched in 1987 for the NES, of course.

"The 1990s Mega Man TV series was cool and different than other series targeted at kids during that time," said Rouleau in the press release. "It featured great action, but also brought the laughs. Mega Man is a character that is even more relevant for today’s kids and we are really looking forward to creating something new that still respects the long tradition of the character."

The Mega Man multiverse has spawned over 130 video games on multiple gaming systems, selling over 30 million copies worldwide, as well as a plethora of toys, comics and collectibles. A highly-rated Mega Man TV series was popular in the USA in the 1990s and aired for several seasons.

The new animated series has not been set up at a network as of yet, but when it is, we'll make sure to let you know!
