The Kickstarter success story is being delayed a few months to add some extra polish. Here’s the latest look at Yooka-Laylee!

Yooka-Laylee, the highly anticipated spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie, will make its showcase debut at E3 this year. Developer Playtonic has released an official E3 trailer for the upcoming 3D platforming game, which shows off some gorgeous new environments to explore, intriguing characters to befriend, and a slew of special abilities that players can use to help them nab every last glittering collectable.

Along with the E3 news, Playtonic and publisher Team17 have also revealed that Yooka-Laylee’s release has now been pushed back a few months from October 2016 to Q1 2017 on PC and consoles. In regards to the delay, Creative Director and MD of Playtonic, Gavin Price, has issued the following statement: “While we felt confident we could ship the game in October as originally planned, the team has decided that it would like to add a few extra months’ polish to our schedule. Ultimately, this will allow us to release a better game to the thousands of fans who’ve supported us throughout development.”

Yooka-Laylee will be released on PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, and PC. You can check out the brand new E3 trailer just above, and be sure to stick around until the very end for some tongue-in-cheek dialogue between the adorable new buddy duo.
