Microsoft closed their E3 2016 presentation with the official announcement of Project Scorpio, the rumored upgraded Xbox console for the next-generation.
Some early specs of Project Scorpio include 6 teraflops of computing capability to handle 4K resolutions, eight CPU cores, and over 320 GBs per second of memory bandwidth. As part of the same console family, Project Scorpio and Xbox One will both play the same games and use the same accessories.
Project Scorpio, which Phil Spencer says the team at Microsoft believes to be “the most powerful console ever built,” will be released holiday 2017.
