The psychotic anti-Shadaloo assassin makes her return next week. We have both a trailer and a whole bunch of images.
Recently, Street Fighter V updated with a cinematic story mode called “A Shadow Falls.” Not only did the storyline bridge the events between the reign of M. Bison’s Shadaloo and the rise of Gill’s Illuminati, but it also gave us a taste of the DLC characters who had yet to be released. Namely, we got to play as Juri Han and Urien in brief spurts.
Next week, we’ll be able to get our hands on Juri as an actual character.
This new trailer shows the psychotic vixen in action.
Juri’s V-Skill is the Kasatsushu, which allows her to do a rush of attacks, including a dashing jump kick that hits behind the opponent.
Her V-Trigger is the Feng Shui Trigger Alpha, where she’s able to cancel all of her normal attacks into each other, all while her charge-based attacks are at full strength.
Then there’s her Critical Art, the Sakkai Fuhazan. It’s not a huge cinematic deal like most other supers, but the slicing kick works well as a combo ender.
Juri is a relative newcomer to the world of Street Fighter, first showing up in 2010’s Super Street Fighter IV. She’s portrayed as kind of an anti-Chun-Li, enduring a similar tragic origin, but responding in a different way. Her father was a lawyer out to prosecute Shadaloo and was killed for it, along with his wife. The orphaned Juri became broken and trained vigorously in taekwondo so she could one day get her revenge and destroy Shadaloo.
She became an agent of Seth, part of the Shadaloo offshoot SIN. Seth had Juri’s eye replaced with the Feng Shui Engine, a device that would increase her power and perception. While against Bison, she’s far from a good person and sexually relishes in the pain of others. It makes it rather hypocritical that her nickname for Vega is “Perv.”
In Street Fighter V, Juri is part of a ragtag group of people with an axe to grind against Shadaloo, working alongside Charlie Nash and Rashid. She later teams up with Cammy, who becomes a fugitive from the law for assaulting police officers.
Juri will be released for Street Fighter V within the next few days. After her is Urien and presumably a new list of DLC characters.
