Heroes from various realities join together to enter this year's King of Fighters tournament to save us all. Here's the trailer.
With King of Fighters XIV just a week away from release, we’re up to the fourteenth team spotlight. This one’s an interesting one as we get the team of Nakoruru, Mui Mui, and Love Heart. Due to being characters from other games that don’t even take place in King of Fighters continuity (because they really can't), they’re known as Team Another World.
I want to make a Dwayne Wayne reference here, but I’d be crushed by how few people would get it.
Anyway, our multiversal heroes kick some ass in this here clip.
King of Fighters was created as a mishmash of different SNK properties, fitted into its own continuity, but the three women on this team don’t exactly fit in with the idea of our modern world to the point that in their storyline prologue, none of them understand the very concept of television. As the story goes, they are banded together from different worlds to stop some horrific, world-hopping evil and it’s led them to this reality. They’ve decided to enter King of Fighters for the sake of drawing out this evil.
Nakoruru is really the only one who would be well known outside of Japan. She comes from the Samurai Shodownseries, introduced in 1993. Born in the late 1700s, she acts as an avatar of nature and tends to help out her samurai and ninja allies against whatever demon of the week they’re up against. She also appeared in the Capcom vs. SNK games.
Love Heart comes from the pachinko game Sky Love, hailing from a world where civilization is basically made up of sky pirates. Mui Mui, on the other hand, comes from Dragon Gal, another pachinko game. She’s a young kung fu practitioner from ancient China.

As it is right now, the only teams left to be shown off are Team K’ (K’, Maxima, and Kula) and Team Women Fighters (Mai, King, and Alice). Oh, and the big end boss.
King of Fighters XIV will be hitting PlayStation 4 on August 23.
