Everything Metal Gear Solid V in one snazzy new package.

Following rumors of a remastered edition of Metal Gear Solid V that have been floating around since Hideo Kojima's Konami departure, Konami has confirmed that they will be releasing Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience on October 11th in the US and October 13th in the UK for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The Definitive Experience will comprise of all the content released for Metal Gear Solid V thus far, which includes Ground Zeroes, The Phantom Pain, and every piece of DLC released for the included main titles. Konami also makes reference to the inclusion of additional Mother Base currency in their announcement, which seems to indicate that Definitive Experience players will be rewarded additional in-game funds rather than a new form of currency entirely.

A full list of all the content included in the Definitive Experience can be found here.

Also of note is The Definitive Experience's price. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game are going to retail for $49.99 (£34.99), but Konami has not yet revealed the price of the PC edition. There is no word yet on why this is the case, although it is possible that Konami may be taking a page out of the book of upcoming PC master editions of games such as BioShock and Dear Esther by either making The Definitive Experience free for those that already own the game or offering it at a reduced price.

Then again, it's likely that they just want to make sure the PC edition is up to par before confirming the price.

It's a little disappointing to hear that the Definitive Experience won't include any significant extra content, although it certainly makes sense that we won't be getting a director's commentary track or anything similarly related to the game's production given the very public departure of Kojima. It will also be interesting to see whether or not any alterations are made to the original game in relation to the many references to Kojima.
