South Park: The Fractured but Whole Trailers
Last year, Ubisoft announced that a follow-up to the beloved South Park RPG Stick of Truthwas in the works, but at E3 2016, we finally got a look at what exactly South Park: The Fractured But Whole has in store for us.
Check out the game's new trailer below:
It's clear that superheroes - specifically superhero movies - are the game's latest target, as the story revolved around Cartman's attempts to form a neighborhood super hero group. Soon, half of the group abandons Cartman, and we are presented with a bonafide South Park superhero civil war situation.
Even though the game is adapting a more superhero oriented style in its presentation, mechanically the game still appears to be sticking to its RPG roots. We see this in the combat sequences that showcase such new abilities as universe tearing super farts in action, as well as in a character building sequence that shows the player crafting their chosen persona with a little help from Cartman. It's worth noting, though, that it does appear that the game is moving towards more of a tile-based combat system as opposed to the traditional turn-based action we saw in Stick of Truth.
