It's been a while since Bethesda last visited the irradiated wastelands of the Fallout series, passing off the last outing, Fallout: New Vegas, to Obsidian. Rumors that the original team has been working on Fallout 4 have been around for a while, and now it seems as though there's more to these rumors than wishful thinking.
As seen on website OHIM (link below), Bethesda has filed for the Fallout 4 trademark, which covers digital media and merchandise. Alongside this, the mysterious teaser website, Survivor 2299 appeared last week, with a countdown that ends on December 11, the same week of this year's Spike VGA Awards, which many believe is when Fallout 4 will be announced. The website features the Vault-Tec logo, and a countdown timer.
Perhaps totally coincidental and unrelated is the recent new range of Fallout bobble heads that have also recently been announced by Gaming Heads
Various sources have pointed out that some of the rumors, including the 2299 website, could be fake, but the timing for the VGAs is pretty intriguing, and Bethesda is more likely to switch to a non-Elder Scrolls title for the next release, so we're hoping that the wastelands of Fallout's universe are due to return to next gen.
