Destiny's latest update will include even more incentive to grind.

Your 385 Destiny light level is about to become an achievement of the past once the game's 2.4.1 update hits tomorrow.
This update will bring with it the much-anticipated release of the Wrath of the Machine Heroic Mode which will, in turn, raise the current maximum light level to 400. This also means that Nightfall, Exotic Engrams, Strike Hoards, Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, and Crucible will be able to provide players with rewards that go up to the new 400 light cap. Meanwhile, Legendary Engrams, Archon's Forge, and the Heroic SIVA Strike playlist will have their rewards upped to 385 light and Rare Engrams as well as the normal SIVA Strike Playlist rewards will now go up to 365.
Besides giving players a higher light level to aspire to, this won't have much of an overall effect on the current light level requirements as only Nightfall is having its recommended light level raised as a result of this new cap. Now, players are recommended to have a light level of 380 for those challenges.
Elsewhere in the update notes, Bungie is stating that they have corrected an error that was causing Artifacts and Ghosts to not drop at their intended rates. As such, they have been added as Archon's Forge completion rewards and will now drop up to 400 light. Faction Packages will also now reward Ghosts more often and the rate of Artifacts from Eris' Faction Packages has been increased.
Most interesting of all, Bungie hints at further changes on the near horizon. Their exact wording is that these announcements have "yet to be... unmasked," which seems to indicate we'll soon have more information about the game's 2016 Haloween event.
Update 2.4.1 will be available on October 18th at 2 PM Pacific.
