The latest Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare gameplay video is all about the zombies. Infinity Ward gives fans their first look at "Zombies in Spaceland," which tells the story of four young actors thrust into the craziest audition of their lives. Check out the gameplay, which also includes the very silly opening cinematic, below:

Zombies in Spaceland is bringing two brand new elements to the franchise's popular Zombie Mode. The first is the ability to deposit money into ATMs, which will allow players to keep their money, even if they die during combat. The second is the Afterlife Arcade, which keeps players engaged after they die by treating them to different carnival games while they wait to respawn. Players can also earn points for their "Soul Power Meters" while playing the games, which allows them to rejoin the fight. 

Activision and Infinity Ward revealed the latest installment in the Call of Duty franchise last month: Infinite Warfare, the game that's finally taking the series to space. Call of Duty's ultimate turn to pure military science fiction has been long rumored and gestating. Over the years, Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and Sledgehammer have all introduced more sci-fi concepts to their games, increasingly departing from the franchise's World War II roots. With Infinite Warfare, the sci-fi seems to have finally made its way to the forefront.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Release Date

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will arrive on November 4, 2016, sticking to the series' traditional Fall release date. The game will be available on PS4, XBO, and PC. 

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Trailer

Another trailer has arrived for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, showcasing the multiplayer mode. Get your first glimpse of the fast-paced shooter action below:

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare  revealed another trailer called Black Sky that shows off the game's opening sequence. Though this level starts off on Earth during what appears to be the aftermath of an attack, it soon transitions into a space battle that feels much more in line with the footage that we saw at E3.

Regardless of its setting, Infinite Warfare is still looking rather impressive and leaves little doubt as to why its developers open the video by describing it as a "passion project."

We knew that Call of Duty was going to go big with their move to sci-fi, but this new trailer showcases just how all-in the franchise is in this jaw-dropping demo that barely resembles the series in a very good way:

The first trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is full of mechs, futuristic weapons, exoskeletons, and space battles. Oh, and there's a nod to David Bowie's "Space Oddity," too.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Campaign

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will feature a linear campaign mode, but the game will also have non-linear missions that you can choose to complete for better loot. 

"As the captain of the UNSA Retribution, which is the carrier that you command, you can order it to go and engage in different missions in a non-linear order," Infinity Ward design director Jacob Minkoff told IGN.

"We are telling a linear story, but along the way you can choose to attack targets of opportunity, and attacking those targets of opportunity will reward you with various items and progression and loot elements that will help you to accomplish the next main mission that you accept from command." These missions "will also reveal optional elements of the story."

One of the new gameplay elements featured in the debut trailer that attracted the most buzz was the fighter plane that players could pilot into space. These fighter planes are known as Jackal. 

Minkoff told IGN that "It's kind of the Top Gunfantasy. It's your fighter that you get to upgrade and customize. You get to walk along the flight deck and have the flight crew preparing it for you and saluting you and you get into it and you fly out into these crazy missions that you chose to go to."

He also said that the switch between battles on-foot and in the cockpit would be seamless. "You can be boots on ground, fighting through the streets of a city on earth, call down your Jackal, get into it, fly up through the atmosphere, engage in a dogfight over the orbit of earth, finish that dogfight, land on the deck of the carrier, get into the carrier, go up to the bridge, and order your ship to go to the next mission and all of it happens seamlessly with no loading screens."

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Multiplayer

No details have been revealed about Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's multiplayer mode at this time, but you can expect a multiplayer mode to be present. Classics like Deathmatch and Domination will undoubtedly return. 

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Zombies

Infinity Ward is developing a new Zombie mode for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. This is the first time this particular studio has created a Zombie mode for their Call of Duty entries, a mode that was originally exclusive to the Treyarch entries before Sledgehammer followed suit in Advanced Warfare. 

"We’re excited that we’re finally able to do our own take on zombies," Infinity Ward said in a livestream on the day the game was announced. The new Zombie mode will not crossover with Treyarch's Zombie universe nor will it have anything to do with what's going on in Infinite Warfare's campaign. 

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon proved that there is no popular first-person shooter that wouldn't benefit from implementing a heavy dose of 1980s ridiculousness into the gameplay formula, and now, Call of Duty will take its own stab at that particular recipe as Infinity Ward has announced that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's zombie mode will take players back to that fabled time in popular culture in order to do battle with the undead.

Rather than match the theme of Infinite Warfare by having fans do battle with zombies in space again such as we saw in one of Black Ops zombie maps, Infinity Ward designed the upcoming Zombies in Spaceland to take you and your team of decade appropriate stereotypes to a popular '80s theme park called Spaceland. Your characters believe that they have been sent there to audition for an upcoming movie, but instead, they are met with a legion of colourfully dressed undead creatures that they will need to use a variety of creative weapons against. 

Although these modes have never really tried to realistically recreate zombie warfare, this is certainly the most outlandish setting for the popular horde feature yet. While you can probably expect the core game to function roughly as it did in previous versions, it's great to see the developers go all-in on the aesthetical aspects of the period and even give use new themed weapons to play with  such as an explosive boom box that compels nearby zombies to group up and breakdance. 

Zombies in Spaceland will also sport a notable cast of voice actors that include Seth Green, Ike Barinholtz, Jay Pharoah, Sasheer Zamata, Paul Reubens, and the immortal David Hasselhoff. 

Zombies in Spaceland should be available when Call of Duty: Infinite Warfarelaunches on November 4th.

Modern Warfare Remastered will come with that game's campaign and 10 multiplayer maps. It will not be available as a standalone release, so you'll have to purchase one of the above editions in order to download the game.
