Machinima And Hasbro Team to Continue Transformers Animated Web Series

Machinima will transform the final two chapters of The Prime Wars Trilogy for Hasbro.

Machinima and Hasbro are teaming up to adapt Transformers: Combiner Wars into life in an animated web series. Machinima, and Hasbro, Inc. will join forces to develop Titans Return and Power of the Primes, the final two installments of the animated Prime Wars trilogy.

The first sequel is set in the period following the “excitement of Transformers: Combiner Wars, the depleted forces of Cybertron and a broken Council of Worlds must now face-off against a new threat that is larger than anything that has come before,” according to the press statement.Transformers: Titans Return, the first follow-up, will feature return appearances from many fan-favorite Transformers characters. The series will also introduce new Autobots and Decepticons.

That first arc in the Prime Wars Trilogy racked up over 120 million views worldwide across a variety of platforms, including go90 (United States), SkyQ (U.K.), AMC Iberia (Spain and Portugal), Sohu (China), and YouTube. 

“The global fan base has really embraced this vision of the Transformers,” Machinima CEO Chad Gutstein, said in a statement, “and we are thrilled to be working closely with Hasbro developing the next two installments of the series.”  

According to the official synopsis:

“Taking place 40 years after the Great War on Earth, the first chapter of the Prime Wars Trilogy, Transformers: Combiner Wars digital brings the Transformers storytelling in a new direction as it introduces all-new characters that, combined with characters fans have known for decades, will deliver raging action and signature humor to the legions of fans."

“Transformers has always been fueled by the brand’s rich, compelling characters and storylines, and Transformers: Combiner Wars tapped into that lore to offer fans a truly unique and new digital-first story for the franchise” Stephen Davis, Chief Content Officer of Hasbro, said in a statement.

“Following the success of the first series, we are excited to announce this continued collaboration with Machinima and believe Transformers fans will be thrilled to see the story continue to unfold.”

The final two installments of Transformers Combiner Wars will be overseen by Executive Producer and Showrunner Eric Calderon.
