You know how Jason has the ability to always keep up with his victims even though he only ever seems to move at a brisk walk? Well, Friday the 13th: The Game's development team have decided to incorporate that ability into their multiplayer slasher by allowing Jason to "morph" from location to location in pursuit of his victim.
It's not entirely clear what - if any - limitations this ability has but, as evidenced by the below footage, it is clear that this ability can be used to cause some rather unfortunate demises.
The battle against Jason Vorhees is about to get a little easier as noted Jason slayer Tommy Jarvis will be joining the cast of the next Friday the 13th game.
As a child in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Tommy Jarvis became the first person to properly kill Jason Vorhees. Once the producers realized they could make more money if Jason was alive, Tommy was there to greet him once more in Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI.
It is the latter version of Jarvis that fans will be able to play in the upcoming game. Jason Lives actor Thom Matthews even reprises his role in the upcoming multiplayer slasher title.
That's about all we know regarding Jarvis' role in the game, however. It's not even clear if he is somehow tied into the story of the game or if he will be a playable character acquired through DLC.
These answers and more should reveal themselves when Friday the 13th launches in the spring of 2017.
When a studio hires acclaimed effects artist Tom Savini to executive produce a new Friday the 13thvideo game, you know the game's going to be gruesome and very creative when it comes to murdering teenagers. The new trailer for the game is very NSFW, so maybe watch it during your lunch break. Actually, don't do that, either. It's hard to stomach:

Friday the 13th: The Game Details
This new Friday the 13th game is the first since 1989's NES games for which you might have less than fond memories. We wrote a bit about that "gem" back in October.
It will be an asymmetrical, cooperative, multiplayer shooter, inspired by the 4v1 craze that's hit the industry by storm since Evolve entered the arena. It makes sense, of course. Four survivors vs. Jason Voorhees. I'd say the teenagers are still very much out-numbered. Not much else is known about the game. No developer was named in the report.
Well, it's none other than Sean S. Cunningham, the creator of the original film and long-time franchise collaborator, talked a bit about the game to EGM.
He said about the upcoming game, "With a new television series on the horizon and plans announced for the thirteenth installment of the film franchise, we felt the timing was right to finally explore Jason, Camp Crystal Lake, and the rest of the Friday the 13th story in interactive form. We have some exciting new ideas for a game that supplies plenty of replay value while delivering the kinds of thrills and scares that fans of the franchise have come to expect."
