Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Trailer
Uncharted 4 may prove to be the final adventure of Nathan Drake, but if you think that Naughty Dog is done exploring everything that the world of Uncharted has to offer, you ain't seen the debut trailer for Uncharted: The Lost Legacyyet.
Given how adamant Naughty Dog seemed to be regarding Uncharted 4's place as the finale of the Uncharted franchise, the reveal of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy came as a huge surprise when it opened this year's PSX event.
True to their word, though, Naughty Dog is not basing this game around series protagonist Nathan Drake, but rather two of the franchise's best side characters. The Lost Legacy will follow Uncharted 2's Chloe Frazer and Uncharted 4's Nadine Ross as they set off on an adventure involving the...well, that part isn't entirely clear as of yet. The trailer shows Chloe sneaking through a war-torn town in disguise before meeting her accomplice Nadine atop a roof, and the video's description makes a vague reference to a "fabled ancient Indian artifact" that the two are trying to recover.
What is clear is that this title will play out similar to the Uncharted games we've come to know and love. It's worth noting that this preview seems to downplay gunfights and emphasize stealth and hand-to-hand combat, but the gameplay revealed thus far retains that signature style of cinematic excellence that only Unchartedcan properly provide.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Story
After the game's official unveiling at PSX 2016, Naughty Dog creative director Shaun Escayg revealed a few story details about Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Escayg confirmed that The Lost Legacy will take place after the events of Uncharted 4. Chloe Frazer, who has appeared in past Uncharted games, is the main character of the new game. Nadine Ross, another returning character, will also join her on the adventure. The debut trailer was actually ripped straight out of the opening moments of The Lost Legacy.
The Lost Legacy takes place in India, where Chloe hopes to find a treasure called the Tusk of Ganesha. The tusk might have something to do with the Hindu deity Ganesha, and Escayg did confirm that his team took a "deep dive" into Hinduism and the mythology of the region.
Kurt Margenau, who's directing the game, also confirmed that the story will be longer than The Last of Us: Left Behind but shorter than Uncharted 4.
