Watch six minutes of how-to footage for the new gaming reboot of cult classic series Thief, available later this month.
With less than a month to go, Eidos Montreal and Square Enix appear to be pulling out all the stops in their Thief reboot that will return the series not only to its native PC, but also to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One as well.
In their newest trailer, gamers will have the ability to witness over six minutes of video, both from cinematics and gameplay, for Garrett, the revamped titular Thief, as he patrols the streets and rooftops of what appears to be a semi-Victorian London by way of steam punk aesthetic. Watch how you can shoot, kill, upgrade, or even avoid a single fatality (if that’s really your bag as a gamer) in this all-new parkour-heavy game.
Honestly, we’re getting a pretty heavy Assassin’s Creed vibe off this game, but that may be the idea. It sets itself apart by being in first-person, and putting an apparent greater emphasis on abilities of avoiding detection (as well as a perpetual nighttime setting), but for those who can’t wait 10 months for a new adventure of the anti-Templar movement, this may do just nicely.
Thief will be available on all platforms on February 25, 2014 in the U.S.
