Ubisoft's Final Fantasy VI-inspired platformer RPG, Child of Light, looks amazing and it's coming in April!
Child of Light, Ubisoft's new downloadable RPG, will arrive on every last-gen and next-gen console known to man, as well as PC, on April 30. This platformer role-playing game is a welcomed entry into the genre for the JRPG fans of old, who miss the days of Final Fantasy VI.
The game not only looks beautiful, but it's stripped down to the core gameplay elements of the old 16-bit RPG world we know and love.
Take a look at the new trailer:
The downloadable role-playing game is in development at Ubisoft Montreal and built on the UbiArt Framework, an engine that helps designers breathe life into their hand-crafted art, creating worlds that feel like interactive paintings. With a story told in rhyming verse, Child of Light features turn-based combat, a deep customization system, and a quest that can be played solo or co-op.
Prepare to be swept away by this charming coming-of-age tale in which Aurora must free the sun, moon and stars, which are held captive by the Queen of the Night, in an epic adventure that has our hero facing everything from fierce dragons to her darkest fears in 1895 Austria.
