This WWII shooter holds nothing back on the emotional devastation of war.
A new trailer has been released this week for the upcoming World War II FPS, Enemy Front, and it chooses to present the devastating aftermath of war rather than the visceral action. This latest cinematic trailer depicts events from the Warsaw Uprising of 1944, which will be one of the main focal points for players on their journey across Europe to combat the Nazi forces. What’s even more interesting is that developer CI Games is actually based out of Warsaw, Poland, so you’ve got to imagine these horrific depictions hit pretty close to home.
The trailer itself is incredibly quiet and haunting, as it centers on the deaths of a civilian mother and son outside of their home. You know that controversial scene from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3where the child dies on the street? Yeah, this is pretty much the same disturbing caliber. And to give it an even bigger emotional punch, the Warsaw Uprising trailer hits us with some devastating historical facts and reiterates how the game itself has been based on real events.
Enemy Front is currently aiming for a release this summer on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, and will feature an extensive single-player campaign, as well as co-op and multiplayer components.
