The attachable limb is mightier than the sword in this stylish mobile action game.

In between promoting the upcoming release of Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition on current-gen consoles this spring, Drinkbox Studios has also found the time to announce a brand new mobile game that’s already on the ticket for next year. Severedwill follow the action-packed adventures of a one-armed warrior who uses the severed body parts of their fallen foes to increase the warrior’s own powerful attacks and spells.

Severedwill utilize a totally gesture-based control scheme, where players swipe or tap on the screen to move through different environments and engage in visceral combat, kind of in the same vein of famous “swiping” games Fruit Ninja and Infinity Blade. A debut concept trailer depicts this gameplay style and the colorful and stylistic world that should make all Guacameleeplayers feel right at home.

In speaking with Destructoid on the subject, the devs behind Severedcite Mega Man as one of the game’s primary influences, which is easily seen in the concept of the player-character acquiring new limbs with new powers, much in the same way that Mega Man would acquire new modifications for his Mega Buster weapon from the defeated robot masters.

Severedis currently slated for a release sometime in 2015. And as of right now, the game is only planned for mobile devices, although Drinkbox is also open to bringing Severedto other platforms with motion controls as well, such as the PS Vita, Wii U, 3DS, and more.
